You dream it, we'll achieve it!
At the Design Mill, we don't just design homes,

'After fifty years in property development I have never met anyone who could tune into not only what we wanted to achieve, but take many of my scribblings and turn them into features far beyond what I anticipated.'

Who we are

The Design Mill was established by hands-on award-winning designer Julie Ann Canal in 1999. We specialize in building design and drafting of new homes, renovations and additions. We believe that you know what will work for your home, your needs and your family but you can't quite put it together. That is where we come in, as Julie has an uncanny gift of being able to 'tune in' to your ideas, understand the plethora of pictures, the scribbles and thoughts you have, and turn them into more than you ever thought possible.

If you are looking for some-one to read your mind, you have just found her. Come and talk to us

Why we do it

We live for design, well Julie does anyhow! Design is crucial, it is the fundamental aspect of any new home or renovation. When designing many important aspects are taken into account; the flow and connectivity between areas, external and internal appearance,  light and ventilation, but more importantly, the comfort for you and your family to live in and enjoy.

Your home governs and aids your lifestyle, how you interact with each other and how you entertain. At the Design Mill, we don't just design homes, we design lifestyles.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

Concrete tilt-up panels are used internally and externally which require no additional surface treatment and hence no maintenance. The facade is designed to protect the west and eastern windows yet allow the northern sun to warm the living areas in winter.
